Crafter's Block

After being "out of the swing of things" for the past few weeks, I've managed to hit the ultimate "Crafter's Block."  My mom called the other day needing a wedding card for a cousin.  Normally not a problem.  After at least a DAY trying to come up with something, I just couldn't figure anything out.  That's when I jumped on YouTube for an hour trying to find something I could do.  I really hate to "scrap-lift" ideas and cards, but in this case... I just had to.
I found this card over at Terri's Blog, Nutz About Stamping and just thought it was the cutest.  I had to give it a try.  Naturally, I had to change things up a bit, but I was pretty happy with the way it came out.  Here is my recipe:

  • Card Base: The Paper Studio Pre-Made Card Base - 5" x 6.5" - White
  • Solid Cardstocks: White, Grey, and Black from various Recollections packs
  • Cricut Cuts: Heart1 from the CTMH Art Philosophy Cartridge
  • Embossing Folders: Stampin' Up Square Lattice, Stampin' Up Stripes, and Sizzix Intricate Swirl
  • Border Punch: Apron Lace from Fiskars
  • Stamp: Wooden stamp from stash (don't have a label on it anymore)
  • Embellishments:  Black sparkle ribbon from stash, black pearls from stash, and crystal rhinestones from stash
It came out "ok" in my opinion, but not too bad for my frist real venture into cardmaking in a few months :-)  Hope she likes it.
