Today is my BIL's birthday... the BIG 3-0! We're not having a big birthday for him as they had a big Halloween/Housewarming party two weeks ago and are kinda partied out. Lol. Instead, we opted to have a small family gathering to celebrate.
The BIL is a huge racing and motorcycle fan, so I thought it only fitting to make him a card that would "fit him to a T." Plus, it gave me an excuse to try out a few new techniques, play with a few new toys, and use a stamp set that I've been dying to use :-)
I used my Cuttlebug Diamond Plate embossing folder with, get this.... ALUMINUM FOIL!! It came out SO cool! I just used about 2 feet of foil, folded it over ontop of itself a few times, put it in the Big Shot (used tab 2 instead of 3), and ran it thru a couple of times to make sure it had a good emboss. It came out so cute! I attached it to the grey layer using some adorable screw-top brads I found at Hobby Lobby. I used the CTMH stamp set Born to Ride (C1483) for the motorcycle, barbed wire, and flames. I stamped the flames on plain white cardstock, fussy cut them out, and put them on thin pop-dots. The sentiment was printed on my computer and cut out using my Cameo. For the inside, I printed the sentiment and cut the square out on my Cameo and put it on a grey layer.
I can honestly say that this has to be one of my most favorite cards I've made yet! It came out so cute, and I can't wait to give it to him :-)
Such a cool card!!
