What A Weekend!

Phew.... Monday has come and is now going, and I'm still exhausted from the weekend's festivities!  Seriously. Long. Weekend!

Saturday I had a bridal shower for some childhood friends, and it was also Hubby's birthday.  The shower was really nice and I got to see some faces I haven't seen in quite a few years.  My mom and sister were also invited, but they were "indisposed" at the time on their way home from vacation... :-p to them for spending a week on the beach without me!  Anywho, I whipped up a card for the bride-to-be using a few cuts on my Cameo and my new Baby's Breath Cuttlebug folder.

All those flowers and stars were a PITA to glue on, but totally worth it in the long run.  I added some clear Stickles to the flowers just to give them a bit of sparkle.  The bride-to-be couldn't believe it wasn't a store bought one :-)  Score 1 for the handy crafter!

After the shower, it was time to celebrate Hubby's big 3-6.  Unfortunately he had inventory so after working a crazy 60-hour week, he had to work another 9 hours on Saturday.  We did, however, manage to get some celebrating done later on in the day.

Birthday Boy Singing at Karaoke
We went to our usual "Watering Hole" (lol) with a bunch of our friends to celebrate.  Even though Hubby had to be back at work at 8 am on Sunday, he still managed to have a really, really, REALLY good time :-)  Maybe a little bit too much of a good time.  He he he.  He kinda passed out in the car on the way home.  Thank goodness I was the DD for the night!

I was able to whip up a little card for him, again on my Cameo, to go along with his little gift.

I found a couple of jpg's on the internet and used the trace feature in the Silhouette software to cut out Vader and the Death Star.  He LOVED it!  Hubby is a HUGE Star Wars fan, and was totally cheesed to get a handmade card :-)   It actually goes along with his big birthday gift he got from me a few months ago (the Collector's Edition Star Wars XBox 360 Bundle).  He's got it proudly displayed on the entertainment center, and then it's off to the keepsake box :-)

With today being as nuts as it was at work (our owners were all in from Italy), I'm completely zonked.  I think I'm going to hit the bed early tonight and get a fresh start on tomorrow.

Until then my craft-friends!

  1. Phew Jess - you did have a hectic weekend. Happy belated Birthday to your hubby, has he recovered;-) Love the bride to be card, its beautiful, don't you just love the baby's breath folder. And I love the hubby card. Gosh, I really need to persuade hubby that the Silhouette Cameo would be an awesome Christmas/Birthday pressie (my birthday is on the 5th Jan so normally gets forgotten about). TFS

    1. Thanks Karon! Yes, Hubby has recovered (helped he took yesterday off as a personal day) and he's back to work today.

I HIGHLY recommend the Cameo. I still love my 2 Cricuts, but I LOVE my Cameo for doing more intricate cuts and more personalization. Let me know if I can help out with sweet talking your Hubby ;-)
