Thinking of You

Such a gloomy day here in Cleveland!  Cold and raining.  I had a photoshoot this morning doing some engagement pictures, and the poor Bride and Groom were soggy by the time we were done.  Out of 170 shots I got, I'm praying that at least a dozen of them turned out OK.

In the meantime, I made a Thinking of You card for my sister last night and think it turned out pretty cute.

Just had a chance to snap a picture early this morning before heading off to visit my sister.  I really need to get better at remembering to actually take pictures of my cards before giving them away.  Lol.

Recipe:
  • Card Base: The Paper Studio - 5" x 6.5"
  • Cricut Cartridge: Used my Gypsy, Elegant Edges for bottom border
  • Paper: Recollections Asst. Card Stock for the solid and Recollections Kraft
  • Cuttlebug Folder: Paper Stuido Embossing Folder - Intricate Swirl
  • Stamp: "Thinking Of You" from CTMH A Blossom Stamp Set (A1121)
  • Embellishments: Ribbon and Rhinestone "bling" from stash
I'm REALLY trying to get my sister into cardmaking and scrapbooking with me.  Slowly but surely, I think I'm finally getting to her :-)  She got a "Baby Bug" for Christmas back in 2010 and has never used it.  She's dabbled in scrapbooking over the years, but I think she just needs to see all the wonderful creations she can make to give her a jump-start.

On a side note, I had some extra time yesterday on my lunchbreak and decided that since it was "Payday Friday," that I needed to go spend some of my hard-earned paycheck.  I LOVE the fact that I only work about 7 minutes from a Hobby Lobby and I can get there on my lunchbreak!  What a wonderful way to try and relax from work for an hour :-)  I didn't get much, but did score some goodies.  I actually had 2 Cricut cartridges in my hand at one point, but put both of them down before I got to the checkout.  I'm really trying to be good and save up some money for a nice, big CTMH order... but it's so hard sometimes!

I know it's not much, but I desperately needed some "guy themed" papers for Father's Day and some upcoming guys' birthdays.  I've never used MMY paper before, but they're gorgeous!!  I normally would NEVER spend full price on anything these days, and even though I only had one coupon, I HAD to have these!!!  I am, however, kicking myself in the butt about not grabbing those two cartridges, but I'm sure I'll get over it.

The gameplan for the weekend is to get cracking on the Mothers' Day gifts I need to wrap up, and try and get ahead on my card-making for the next month's worth of events.  I'm planning three kids' birthdays in the next three months (my Godchildren) and need to get working on those.  Seriously, can I please have another 5 hours in the day!!  I could really use it right about now.  That, and another set of hands would be nice too :-)

Have a great weekend everyone!
