Happy National Scrapbooking Day!

Until about six months ago, I would have never "celebrated" this day.  However, this year I am!!  Here's how I celebrated...

WENT SHOPPING

My four-legged fur baby had to go to the groomers' this morning, so I had an opportunity to hit up the HUGE JoAnn's that's right down the street.  I'm fortunate enough to live so close to their corporate headquarters and do most of my shopping at their "corporate store."  It's really no different than any other stores, just we get the benefit of them offering products that they're testing out and haven't been rolled out to the other stores yet.  I mainly went because I had a return to do, but while I was there I did grab a few little things... none of which were actually for me!  Lol.  Got a few things so that Hubby can make me a sign for my craft room.

FINISHED A MOTHER'S DAY GIFT

Today also happens to be my MIL's birthday, so we're going down to celebrate her big day, along with Mother's Day (she kinda gets a bum deal with her B-Day so close to Mother's Day).  We got her a "big gift" as a combo BD/MD gift, but I wanted to make her a little something too.

Tile Coaster Set

Recipe:
  •  6 - 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" White ceramic tiles from Home Depot
  • Paper: 6 - 4" x 4" squares cut from the CTMH Sonoma Paper Pack (X7143B)
  • Mod Podge
  • Spray Acrylic Sealer
  • 24 - Self-adhesive Felt "feet"
These were the EASIEST things in the world to make! While we were out shopping last night, we popped over to Home Depot and I grabbed 6 of these SUPER CHEAP ($0.16 each) 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" tiles.  I cut my paper to 4" x 4" and then used a few coats of Mod Podge on them.  Finished them off by giving a couple of good coats of spray acrylic sealer and some felt "feet" (the things you put on the bottom of chair legs to keep them from scratching your floor).  Super easy, inexpensive, and gorgeous! From start to finish it only took over night - About an hour to physically make them, and then overnight for the sealer to dry.  The Sonoma paper matches her living room perfectly, and made coordinating the colors super easy.  I just cut two out of each paper and used one from each design (they're two-sided).

MADE A MOTHER'S DAY CARD

Normally, my MIL gets a combo card too... for both B-Day and Mother's Day.  This year, however, I couldn't have that.  Lol.  So since I already made her a Birthday Card, all I had to do today was the Mother's Day card.

Recipe:
  • Paper Base - 5" x 6.5" card from the Paper Studio
  • Patterned Paper: Summer Stripe from the Paper Studio
  • Solid Paper: Coordinations "Candy Shop" assortment
  • Cricut Cuts: Florals Embellished - <Flower12> cut at 3.5" and Sentmiment tag was cut from the Storybook Cartridge (modified in CCR)
  • Stamp: Say It In Style (D1283) from CTMH
  • Ribbon from stash
This card came out super cute.  Very spring-like and that's what I was going for.  I distressed the flower pieces a bit before assembling, as I did also for the background layers.  Hope she likes it!

RELAXED A BIT IN THE BACKYARD

My four-legged fur baby, Vito, LOVES it when the weather is nice and we just let him out without his lead on.  On days like today, he can't wait to get outside and do this....

Should have a nice big haul for you tomorrow, once I get it all organized :-)  Have a WONDERFUL WEEKEND everybody!!
